I'm trying to figure out a little more about a 52 sedan delivery I might buy. This is on the plate: Style No. 52-1271 Body No. CL 3629
Looks like the 1271 is a "Styleline Special Sedan Delivery" but it is a 4 door, with fairly wide back doors. Has a single seat and a wall/window behind it.
Any suggestions? And what does the CL 3629 mean?

52-1271 indicates its a 1952 sedan delivery. CL 3629 indicates the body was built at the Cleveland, Ohio Fisher Body (GM) plant. All sedan delivery bodies were built at that plant. The sedan delivery would have two front doors only. The one in question has had some custom body modifications done to it. May have been used as a funeral car at one time....Picture?

Here are three. I know it has been used as one, but wonder if that is an original or local customizing. It looks like more than would/could have been done locally. But then the roof supports to the back look different. After the paint code the plate also says " Top ACC" does that mean anything?

The Top Acc means nothing. Thhe vehicle has a body stretch and could have been done by several companies in the US. There may/should be a plate some where on the body telling who did the work. If it was done in the US there were several companies that did them in the '50's.

I have a 1951 Chevrolet/National ambulance which has a similar body configuration. The company that modified the vehical ususally put their name in two place: 1) on the rear of the front fenders (I don't see one in the pic you supplied, and 2) there was a small plate placed at the bottom corner of the partition wall on the passenger side. Does this vehicle have a "jump seat" or a place where one would have been on the passenger side inside the second door? Also is the rear floor still intact? If so, and you can send me a pic, I might be able to tell if it was originally a hearse, and ambulance or a "combo" car, which was both (common back then). Hope this helps.
