Cowboy-
You are not likely to find one in "good" condition, as every FB cam that I have has the lobes worn hollow, because the lifters are small diameter with a spherical radius on the bottom. Brilliant engineering! There are two (at least) different crankshafts, one with smaller bearing diameters, which might be FA. Ignition parts and some of the oil distribution plumbing is potmetal, and useless because of distortion, or broken. Front and rear main inserts are babbitt diecastings, so shells would have to be made for re-babbitting, or babbitt poured directly into block. The FA's had the single exhaust port head that was forever cracking, and the FB's had the famed 3 port head that the hop up guys stole off the blocks, so if you find anything, it probably won't have any head on it. I bought 2 engines with heads 20 years ago, and even then they were missing carbs, intakes, starters, generators. Ignition runs off rear of generator thru a bastard gear ratio (gen. gear driven and runs faster than crank) Is this enough to turn you off? Only way to mess with these is to have a machine shop, and rocks in your head (like me!).

Herb-

finally able to log in correctly.

Well, i'm only looking for a good usable block 19-22 to build a hopped up chevy 4 banger in the future,...so i'm not interested in the problematic parts.

thanks, talk with you soon.
Jason
