Never fold the windshield forward on a '32 LP without removing the windshield wiper arm first unless your trash collector can recycle laminated glass ( I assume the same is true for a '32 Cabriolet).

mad  idea flush

Are you sure you have the correct wiper motor, arm and blade? The original type will bend at the wiper motor shaft and not break the glass.

I have the original '32 chrome wiper motor (self restored and running at 50% power; I had sent the motor to the expert in NY but they refused to repair it) and a Taiwanese after-market wiper arm that the FS sold to me as a '32 reproduction equivalent.

(see my previous post: '32 wiper arm)

I guess that I don't have what I need (knowledge or equipment) to keep from breaking my windshield.

At the end of the day the fault is mine because the damage was avoidable on my part if I had exercised due caution.

It was just totally unexpected and it caught me be surprise.

I wouldn't know an original '32 type of wiper arm if it bit me!

(Until someone showed me what an original '32 wiper arm should look like that is and how it was attached to the motor shaft!)

Sorry about your windshield...I never noticed any problems with it down however, I only drove my car once with the windshield folded down...never again. I didn't have any goggles and anything over 30mph was murder...lol

Now I understand the need for all of the gear people would wear back in the day.

Louis,

Can you post a pic of your wiper arm and how it goes together on your Cabriolet here, PM or to me at:michelparadis@rogers.com .

I can see the crack from where I sit. Notice no wiper arm!!!

I need to figure out what I did wrong before I replace windshield number 2.

yay

I couldn't get to taking pics of the windshield today, I will try tomorrow, sorry.

Oscar, I posted some trailer pics on the Chat Group car show site. If you need more I will post them for you.

I worked with the local Pace dealer and configued the trailer the way I wanted it plus they put in some custom features that I wanted.

I would not recommend single axle trailers for anything large or valuable. If you blow a tire in a single axle trailer it is possible for it to violently react causing major damage to trailer, tow vehicle and people.

One of the options I used that Pace offered was an up-grade to heavy duty axles over their standard axles.

I agree with Chipper with car carriers trailers duel axles are a must (IMHO) for either open or closed trailers.

Hopefully you can find a dealer that will work with you on building a trailer that fits your needs/desires.

Good luck.

I was watching a program last weekend and they were building a special trailer. They got the plans and parts from Master Plans (www.trailerplans.com). They have some limited plans available but may be able to modify if their stock plans do not satisfy customers.
