Hey Guys I am in need of the expansion plug on the backside of my cam for my "19" FB sedan motor. The hole mics out at ~1.466 inches, which seems like an odd size! At first I thought that it was a "cup type" plug, but a friend pulled one out of a similar engine and it was a disk about 1/4 in thick. I have tried several auto parts stores and talked with the machine shop that did my cylinder head, but not have any luck. If you are wondering where the original went, the guy that did the bearing babbiting evidently took it out when he hot dipped the block. Any ideas? They would be appreciated! John

Some parts houses have a drawer full of the flat plugs in various sizes. See if they will let you dig through it. As a last resort, find one that is just a tad too big and grind it down to fit. I would use some good sealer around the edges and if it is a convex shape cave in the center when you install it.

Guys Thanks for your replies and ideas! A guy at work made me an assortment of 1/8 inch thick tapered disks out of stainless steel today, using a water jet cutter. I think that one of these will work. A clutch collar insert was made for me out of nylon using the same technique. This machine is very cool! I'll update you when I get it together. Thanks again John
