Just a reminder and a Heads Up. The 'Nomination Application' form appears in the current issue (July) G&D, on page 9. This is the Form that must be completed to run for the National Board. It only appears once, and then it will be another year.

A lot of strings on Chatter talk about "making a difference" and "being heard," etc.

If you have opinions about the direction the VCCA needs to move into the future, the national Board is the place to make a difference and be heard.

New blood, fresh ideas, and different outlooks are essential to the vitality and growth of the organization, in my opinion.

The only requirements are to be a VCCA member for 3 years or longer, and (finally!) to have email access and competence.

Again - in my opinion - the type of members that are active on this chat site are the kind of people we need to see running for the Board, and helping to shape the future.

Several Area Directors (represent specific geographic areas of the Country) are up for election this year, as well as two At Large Directors (nationwide) positions.

So, if you have ever thought about it - don't procrastinate - fill out the form. It has to be received by August 20th.

Does VCCA have term limits on Board Members. I think members will not run against their friends.

You asked about term limits back on August 13, 2007. Here was the reply to your question, also dated August 13, 2007:

Quote
We do have term limits.
The motion was passed in early 2005. Effective then 9 year term limits went into effect. All years served prior to 2005 did not count and if a board member began a term prior to 2005 then that term did not count. However, if you are not on the board for two consecutive years, then you are eligible to be elected and stay on the board for a new nine year period or 3 terms. cordman

wink :)

Hey! Mr. President, enjoyed visiting with you at the NorthWest Meet in Yakima.
I took your advice and put my name in the running for the VCCA Board.
I look forward to seeing you at future meets and tours.
I think I can be a valuable asset to the VCCA.
Thanks for the Chance.

Marion, I agree that you would be an asset to the Board. Congradulations on taking the plunge.

And you'll continue to see me - you never know where I'll pop up next! Just got home Sunday from a run over to Connecticut and the Area 11 National Meet. A real fine effort by those involved, and a good time with great people and of course great Chevys.
