While at a flea market this past week I came across a dealer who had a 32 promotional record. It was about 3-4" across. Can someone tell me whats on the record and what value it might have if in "good" condition.

Which one? There are two of them.......a round record and a square record, and each is about 4" in diameter.

wink :)

You'd need a 78 RPM player with a .003 stylus to play it. The tune you'd hear is "Happy Days Are Here Again" with an announcement promoting the new Chevrolet. On the playing side it says ADVANCE INFORMATION - THE GREAT AMERICAN VALUE FOR 1932. On the other side the label says BE SURE TO PLAY THIS RECORD TODAY and there is a drawing of a 1932 sedan. A couple of years ago I sent a taped copy to Bill Barker. Maybe we can get him to play it for us.

If you have old Chevrolets, other old Chevrolets will find out where you live.

The one I saw was round. It looked in good shape but I don't have a player so I didn,t buy it.If it was going for ten bucks I probably would have, however the asking price was twentyfive.

The asking price of $25 was extremely reasonable! While there seems to be a lot of those records around their value is between $35 and $50 each. The large 10" dealer promo record for 1932 is very scarce and it will bring several hundred dollars.

wink :)
