I'm restoring my grandfather's 1949 Chevy 4400. He always wanted a radio but never got one. I did use the search feature on this site to see if anyone posted about this in the past.
I found Mike Hagan Antique Auto Radio (215-547-7145) who makes 12 volt reproductions, which would be fine with me, but I am not going to change it to 12 volts. I'm keeping it as original as possible.
Does anyone here have or know of a source for a radio for 48-53 Chevy truck radios?
The truck is in excellent shape. Just a little bit of surface rust. Mice ate the headliner and the door panels, and the inside rolls around the doors, et cetera have to be replaced. I will probably buy an interior kit from Hampton Coach (1-888-388-8726).
I would like to have a new driver's side window glass as well.
The correct interior kit and a paint job and this lady will be ready for the dance.

Contact the CHEVRADIOMAN. He is active here on the forum. He has your stock 6-volt truck radio.

Thanks, Ray. I didn't see a way to contact chevradioman on that link without joining that club ($30).
I'll keep trying.

I already belong to a number of truck and tractor clubs that charge money and send out monthly magazines, which I don't seem to get around to reading. In addition, the site counter in the above link suggests that the site is relatively inactive (about 5500 visits in 3 years, if my memory serves me). My poultry genetics website gets far more hits than that in the same length of time, but then all major poultry science departments at universities and other serious poultry sites link to us.
I prefer not to become a member, at least for now. But, I thank everyone here for the information you provide.

Lee have you checked your PM or do you know how? I assume you tried to contact me through my clubs website?
