I am looking for a schematic/blueprint of the 1929 chassis from which I can build a new frame. Any ideas? Is it in some service manual? Please help!

thanks!

Hi there an welcome to Chevy Chatter II.

What you are looking for doesn't exist in any literature that I am aware of. If you need a 1929 frame you can probably purchase one from one of the many Chevy dudes that are around. I did have a 1929 frame but I sold it a few years ago. However, since then, I have seen several other 1929 frames for sale.

By the way, are you looking for a frame for a passenger car or a truck?

wink :)

This guy on ebay seems to be parting out a 1929: mike.penland@penland.net

Doesn't have a frame listed yet. Here's a starter listing.

Be careful, I'm not sure what year his car is. The hood seems to be misisng half its vents and the dash doesn't look right (at least not like mine)

good luck.

Are you building a stock vehicle or a street rod? If the former you will need to find a stock frame. To build a stock looking frame is a lot of precise work. If a street rod then you have a bunch of options. I understand a S-10 pickup frame is a good option. Others that have a 107" wheel base and approximately the same track width are also candidates.

There are some 1/2 ton truck chassis drawings that have most of the dimensions. They are published in some of the truck sales literature.

The hood is 1929-30 and the instrument panel is incorrect.
