I'm finally getting around to working on my '35 Master accessory glove box door and need to know more about the ash receiver. Does anyone know what the original finish was on the side that faces out when the receiver was closed? Mine is badly worn and there's no trace of what it may have been.

Were these woodgrained, plated or painted? Does anyone have a decent one for sale?

Thanks in advance!

Coach,

A chrome rivet holds the wood grained disc in place. Everything else is Chrome (except the spring clip and U bracket which is black).

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the response. Apparently my 'disc' is missing...any idea where I might get one?
I'm trying my hand at woodgraining on some scrap and I'm getting pretty close to a finish that looks sorta like the original. So, I may be able to match the ash receiver with the glove box door.
