All new car engines are rated by liters, how do you covert that to the old cubic inchs ? Is a 4.7 liter equiv. to 350 cu. in. ?

Hey Dick,
I don't have an actual 'scale' or conversion table at my finger tips. But in pretty close round numbers it's 60 to 1 (one). For example the Chev 305 is called a 5.0. Also note the Chev 350 is called a 5.7. As you see, both these come out pretty close.
Re your example, I'd say a 4.7 is a fair amount less than 350 c.i. More like 285 c.i.
Bill.

Yep, 61.02 C.I. is equal to 1 liter or 1000 cc. and 16.39 CC (.016 Liters)is equal to 1.00 C.I. (slide rule accuracy)
1 liters = 61.0237441 cubic inches (big bang accuracy)

Good Golly Molly, I haven't heard of any one using a "slip-stick" in 40 years. I do use your numbers and try to remember that 100 cubes is close to 1.5 litres. Actually as you calculated 1.638 litres

Yep, I still use my Post Versalog for a backup, it doesn't require batteries or solar power. It is now 52 years old, works as good as ever. slip, slide, and squint!

Tell someone of the calculator generation we built the first atom bomb and put a man on the moon using slip sticks. I still have several but only use them when I'm showing them to someone.
