VCCA Home Forums TECHNICAL - 1945 AND EARLIER 1933-1936 1936 Standard Town Sedan Jack and handle

I was up to Iola Car show and picked up
a small screw type (two stage)jack for a 1936 Standard.
Anybody have any info on what would be
the correct type?
The vendor told me that someone makes the
folding crank handle. any Info on that?
One more, any tips on changing the coil
wire from the key switch to the coil
that is in the spiral cable?

The 1935 Masters and 1936 Masters and Standards came with a bumper jack. The rear has a jack bracket is bolted on to the frame with the same bolt that fastens the bumper brace to the frame. The jack hooks directly into the bracket. In the front the jack is attached to the regular bumper bracket next to the frame mounting.

The ignition cable is one-piece from the switch to the coil cap. The cap is removed from the coil by using a special knife-like tool to depress a tang between the cap and the coil. Depress the tang, then rotate the cap to disengage it. The December '35/January '36 Chevrolet Service News shows this procedure very clearly.
If you need to replace the ignition lock you can often find these used or NOS and they will come with the armored cable attached.
