I am down to the frame. When I took the transmission out, there was a support member bolted to the rear of the trans and connected to the brake shaft just behind it. When I removed that support member, I noticed that the Webbing at rear of trans is broken out.

Now what?

Thanks

Don

Sounds like the front brake cross shaft support that bolts to the casting at the rear of a 1928 Capitol LP 4 speed gearbox, that
then fits to the single front brake cross shaft. It has a self aliging spherical that the shaft runs in to allow for any mis-alignment over rough roads etc.
If you'd like,I can take a photo of the one in mine, and email it to you, just send me a pm with your email address.
