This isn't a "Chevy" Question but I'm making my '28 Chev Capital into a Coke Truck. I am looking for new Coke Cases and bottles to use as the "load". Any ideas on where to find these would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you haven't already done so, I might suggest that you contact the Public Relations Department of the Coca Cola Corporation and obtain either written or verbal approval to the placement of their "Trade Mark" label(s) on your vehicle. I'd be surprised if there's a problem, but it's a lot easier to be safe than sorry.

Hey Insurance Man,
I think it would be worth contacting your "local" Coca-Cola bottler and see if you can get him interested in sort of "sponsoring" the truck. Translation: Sponsor = help finance the project.
It seems at the very least he'd be a good source of 'new' cases and product. Maybe I'm not understanding you correctly and what you really want is 'old' cases and product. 1928 vintage type. In that case, I'm afraid you'll have to get out a big checkbook and start looking.
About using the Coke logo and so on, I think Oldie's advice ( just above ) is good. Actually, the local bottler might be a good source of what to do in that matter also....
Have fun!
Bill.

We used to have a bottler in York PA... just down the street from me. They aren't there any more. I tried Harrisburg PA. Not so good. I "E" mailed Coke in Atlanta for a bottler in my area. We will see.
Good point on the legality of the logo. I'll be sure to get the ok on that.
I am initially going to get "modern" cases etc, simply because I feel that availability will be easier. I can begin a search for older cases but as you said, cost will probably be prohibitive.
Thanks for the ideas.
Don

IMHO running a want ad in the Atlanta newspapers and flyers would be your best source of Coke stuff. If your are in the VCCA you can run an ad in the G&D also. Good luck. PS...there are Coke stuff collector clubs; maybe they can help you... Coke collectors

Believe it or not, this is going to be easier if I simply use the currently available 8 ounce bottles and make my own cases. I'm going to a wood supplier tomorrow to get ideas on the wood and take it from there. Don

Is that red & white one at the top a '53 or '54 of Chat Master's collection?

I'll find one tomorrow. Coke has changed in the last few years. I used to have a concession business that my 4 sons used to put themselves through college, and coke was "local". Now, I'm frustrated finding a bottler. But I didn't spend a lot of time looking either.
I'm planning on making the cases for 8 ounce bottles, which are readily available at Wal Mart. It is going to be a pretty big job, on top of the truck re-hab. But this will make all the cases "new", they will be painted the same, and the colors will absolutely match the truck.
