I need to find rear fender welting for my 1948 Chevy StyleMaster. Does anyone know if fender welting is universal? I found some but it was for a F**D. Originally the car has the fabric welting which has deteriorated over the past almost 60 years. Now it is vinyl. I really did want to keep the car as original as possible. Is the vinyl welting paintable? The car will be painted after the body work is done and I would prefer that the welting match the paint.

The fender welt is available from .....www.fillingstation.com.....3/16" black vinyl covered cord.Their number B-184, 25 ft. roll for $15.35. The welt was not painted when the car was new. Many times it would be painted later and would make the car look like it had a cheap repaint job - which it did.The paint may not "stick" to the modern vinyl.

Chevgene:
Thanks again for the nice hook up. I order the welting and am waiting for a call from them regarding a few other parts that I may need.
Life is beautiful.
