the offset "U" shaped hood retainers that are on some '31 hoods. They "hook" over the radiator support rod to hold the hood partially open. Does anyone have a set of these that they can send me a photo of. I have never seen these or how they mount, but by my hood handle on each side there is an extra hole. If i had a set of these it would be much easier than open 1 side at a time.
These ain't for old guys any more.

hrndog19688, I have seen these as aftermarket kits from a Street Rodders catalog, don't remember who though....
The CRS has kicked in really strong again...

i also have a 31, and got a set of these i think from bow tie reproductions, but could not figure ouy how they were jnstalled or work.

Not all '31 hoods had the retainers. The ones that did have an extra hole next to the back handle hole. The button on the retainer fits into the hole and the hole in the retainer is riveted to the hood with the handle. In other words the retainer and back hole in the hood handle are both attached with one rivet. There are right and left retainers so make sure they are installed so when the hood is partially opened the retainer fits the radiator support rod.

hrndog19688, there is a picture of these retainers in the Filling Station's catalogue on page 29. They call them hood hold open brackets.
