I have two questions related to the subject area.
Re. '34 Master Coupe
1.At the bottom corners of the trunk opening trough (gutter) there are two holes which I assume are for drainage. There is a bunch of solder there but nothing else. What did that look like? Were there two nipples with rubber tubes or solid pipes? Where did they go? To the hole in the middle of the rear sill crossbar?
2. My gas tank apron is very very rough. Does anyone have a photograph of one without the bumper so I could see what the bottom reveal looks like?
Much obliged, Landman

My '35 Standard Coupe has short tubes soldered to each corner of the trunk lid gutter. Each of them has a rubber hose down through the wooden rear sill. I can take a look and get more specific if you would like.

If you would do that Mike, It'd be nice. Like sizes, lenght and material of the nipples, routingof the hoses and whether they are caulked where they go through the sill. That kind of detailed description would be appreciated.
Best regards, Landman

Landman The tubes appear to be about 3/4 inch in diameter and 2 inches long. They may be zinc, they have a crimped seam on the inside which is clearly visible when you look down into them from the top. This gives them a fairly smooth exterior so that the drain hose can fit snug and not leak. I used two pieces of bike inner tube for the hoses. This would be the small "road Bike" size tube. I couldn't find any rubber hose that was large enough inside to slip over the tubes and small enough outside to go through the holes in the floor. I was mistaken before as to where the hoses go through the floor. There are holes in the metal trunk floor just ahead of the wooden rear sill. They are 3 inches inboard from the edge of the steel floor panel. This makes them about 3 inches inboard from the tubes as well. The rubber hoses take care of this offset. I hope some of this makes sense. Mike
