Do you mean like if you have a 28 car and a 2007 plate?
or a 28 car and a 32 plate?
I do not think that the registration plate is a judging item. I guess we will eventually find out. Maybe after all the B.S. that usually follows postings of this nature. laugh laugh yay yay bigl

Current year license plate(s) and / or Year of Manufacture license plates are certainly OK. I have never seen a deduction for license plates.

Thanks Don and Mack. I purchased a set of 51 commercial plates with the 53 metal tabs. Are you ready? $915.00 bucks. They are show material and I am glad I am not married anymore. I wouldn't have a Butt any more, it would be kicked all the way to Texas. They sure are pretty though.I've been sleeping with them every night. Thanks for the info...Oscar bigl bigl bigl

Well Oscar, I guess we did by-pass the B.S. and went right to the head Honcho. I can tell you one thing about Mr. Williams, he don't beat around the bush when he says something, and his wife is better looking and also nicer than he is, too.

We got to see them at the SST10 last week. I like what I have heard lately about the direction VCCA is taking.

By the way , My Dad was second generation oil field and he said B.S. stands for Bottom Settlings, the stuff they find on the bottom of crude oil production storage tanks. It looks and smells like the other B.S. stuff.
Just something for your info.

I bet you got a good deal on those original CA plates for your Truck, but sleeping with them is a horse of a different gait. Don't wear the shiney paint off them. I guess you will put them on for cruises and tours and shows, then put them up for safe keeping.

Old single guys have a lot of money, I have heard.

I am single ever since I brought my truck home on a trailer. She said I could not keep it because it was to ugly for our driveway. I said honey I quit drinking and I need a hobby. She said it was either her or the truck. I said OK don't let the door hit you in the A-- on your way out. That has been three years now and Mr. Mack you are right. I am single and loving every minute of it. If I was still with her and bought those plates I know I wouldn't have no a-- left. Have a good day...Oscar bigl dance auto chevy

Those Cali plates run a bit higher than the $10 I paid for a set of 1938 Nebraska plates. The cool thing about antique auto registration in Nebraska is being able to register year of manufacture Ne plates as your legal plate. We also only have to pay a one time registration fee and do not get charged property tax on antique cars. Some times state legislators can get it right, but not too often LOL. Now if I can only finish my coupe and get 'er on the road again.

Here in Oregon it's the same too. A one time fee and YOM plates as the legal registered plates.

even with yom, we have to pay annually just like any other vehicle...but I only paid $4 on ebay for our '40 yom commercial plate...guess it's just supply and demand...

Here in Ontario, Can. we are allowed YOM plates also. I have the original '46 plate that was put on the car when sold new. I went to register it but was denied. We only had one plate that year because of the lack of steel fromm WW2. Here in Ont. we require two plates. So I ordered personalized plates 609S6 the original #. Guess what plate I'm going to use. LOL.

Here in Ohio we have two plated for modern license. For YOM we only need one plate. I have YOM Dealer plates on two of our vehicles. Haven't found one for the 54 yet.

We are now allowed YOM plates here in Missoui. Only last couple of years. They consider YOM plates the same as Historic Plates.
One time fee about $35.00 with no renual or inspection. I have 1941 plates on my '41. I have several old Missouri plates. I have a lot of them on my garage wall where I keep my '41. Looks good.

In Vermont it's regular registration, "antique" plates, or "vanity" plates. "Antique" plates are very inexpensive per year, BUT use of the car is extremely restricted. Permitted to drive to and from shows, exhibitions, garage for repairs.......no Sunday afternoon drives or pleasure drives.

I have a set of YOM plates for my 48 Fleetline and asked at the DMV office if I could register my car with them.......there was a lot of laughter from behind the counter and I was told they didn't care what other states did.....it wasn't gonna happen in Vermont.

(I run my YOM plate on the front and my regular plate on the rear.)

I think it would be really cool to be able to register the car with YOM plates even if I had to pay normal registration fee.

I know what you mean Ken, putting YOM plates on my vehicles were the perfect finishing touch for me.

Can you put YOM plates on the front and rear and when on the road just put the real plate in the back window? Should not be a problem since they say the YOM plates don't count as real plates.

Maybe the car people in your state can partition and lobby the state legislature and get the rules changed, it worked here.

Yeah Louis C........

A few of us old car guys here are going to start bending ears on the politicians to see if we can get the law changed so we can use our YOM plates legally before we die. talk

Thanks for the suggestion.

Ken, the motorcycle riders here pushed for a change in the law a few years ago and got the state government to drop the helmet requirement for motorcycle riders (also called organ donors)....so if they could do that (which is dangerous IMHO) you should be able to get YOM plates passed for your cars (which isn't dangerous and will not cost the government any $$).

There are many states that allow this so finding a sample to show your leaders should not be hard to do.

All different types of car people should be in favor of this and join together to get this passed; there should be some national clubs also that would support you on this, IMHO.

Finding some members of your state government that own antique or classic cars is a good way to start...IMHO.

Good luck.

No Push I didn't forget it. I just didn't want to muddy the water for the other state guys. I have three cars with Texas Antique Auto Plates, one with the Year of Manufactor (1951). You probably have a whole herd. A couple of my cars are on their second set.
