Can anyoone tell me where to obtain the parts that go onto the bolt that secures the top to the canister to the base of my oil filter? I pulled it off today to change the filter and found it is supposed to have a spring, washer, and I think a rubber ring on the bolt. It has nothing on it. I have checked every site I can think of and cannot find a breakdown of the parts, where I can get the parts or a photo of the bolt and its parts.
Thanks, Roger

Roger, I had the same problem and had to buy a complete filter from ebay to get these parts. I think back and I should have searched for a spring that would have worked. I didn't have a spring or a washer for a long time and didn't have a problem with it. Good luck in finding these parts...Oscar wink chevy

You can probably get a universal spring and a washer that will work at your local hardware store.

wink :)

Thanks Guys. Appreciate the response. If anyone has the size and or picture of the spring I could sure use it. I have checked the hardware stores here and can find all kind of washers and springs, but they all fit loose or too tight.
Thanks again, Roger

Roger, buy a tight fitting spring and cut it down to make it more loose. Sometimes in this hobby you have to do with what you have and make it work...Oscar :) :( cool

Thanks to all responses. While at the hardware store clerk asked if he could help. After telling him what I was looking for he said he thought he had a one of those things in his shed just like the one I described. Sure enough it was complete. I paid him $10.00 and another problem solved.
Thanks again Roger
