has anyone ever installed a thermostat in their 32? is this something I should consider? If so, any guidance on the specific thermostat? TIA, Tom

mine has always had a stat in it. there is a housing that goes on the front of the block to hold it. i just use 140 degree i think ones from checker auto. i have always heard that it is better for the engine.

A modern thermostat can be installed without any special parts. I use one for a Chevy V-8. It fits in a groove or if a groove is not present in the head or outlet (some don't have them) then a thick gasket can be used.

I suggest a 180 degree but most feel a 160 is better. The higher temperature of an engine the more efficient it runs. The upper limit is the internal temperatures for the metal surfaces.

How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
