Gentlemen,
I ran yesterday into some oldies again, The International SF36 seems to have the right headlights for a '25/'26 Chevrolet truck, anybody familiar with those? Then please have a look headlight side/top and headlight front I'll go back to have a better look at it in a few days, anything I should look for ?
I also found a car and a truck from the twenties (?), as I was tresspassing :) I didn't stay too long, I just snapped some pictures. Any hints here? I can go back as soon as I have found the owner and made an agreement to have a better look some pictures
Thanks for your time
Richard

None of the vehicles appear to be Chevrolet. The headlights on the International wrecker(?) do appear to be like the 1925 Chevrolet headlight, except the Chevrolet light used clear lens. The lights and lens would be nice to have if the truck is not going to be saved.

No idea who owns them, abandoned yard and no link to the owner yet.
Yes after looking at the pictures at home I thought that they are as close as I'll ever will get to the original lights of my truck. Now if I could find the owner !
Thanks for your time

edit: the picture shows only the top of the iceberg, behind the closed gate are more trucks, busses and cars, but too far out to take pictures :(

I went to look at some old cars in a field years ago and that is when I got introduced to rock salt. My dad laughed the whole time when he was picking it out of me...Oscar

Right, that's what happened to me in France too, that's why I usually don't go into "empty" yards. Can't locate the owner though, I'll have to park there and hope someone shows up, two head lights that's worth some waiting time :)

Truck26, the car you found is a late twenties McLaughlin. An expensive up scale car built by GM Canada using Buick engines and chassis.

I do think you are correct. Those headlight "cans" and the aluminum trim pieces seem correct for the 25. The glass inserts are not Chevy but they sure are unusual.

I may be stating the obvious here but is it possible that these are International headlights made by the same manufacturer supplying Chev or indeed chev. I have looked at a number of late 1920s international trucks and many seem to have these headlights; often mounted on the cowl as per your photo. I have a collection of what I assume to be 26 headlights but note there are three different types of mounting brackets so some may be international rather than chev?.

I'm almost certain that the headlights are correct IHC lights mounted in the correct place for the 1924 to about 1927 model. I couldn't quite place the touring car: it looks kinda like a Buick. I never thought of Buick's Canadian cousin, the McLaughlin.
