I know this isn't the wanted section but I need a little help. I am in search of a engine and tranny for my 27. I need it to be complete. I have promised my Mother(who was born in 27) that I would take her for a ride in it and since they are both turning 80 this year, I think it would make a good birthday present!
Thanks,
Kathy

I have an engine but I think it's a 26. I'll see if I can get the serial number off of it and post it here for someone to translate.

Sounds reasonable, have a look here

Notice that the bolts for the head are not tight so I have no idea what you find inside. This block + tranny have been in this yard for X years, no idea what's wrong with it, but if... let me know and I'll see how we can help you here. It's in Canada, ± 260 miles from Great Falls Montana. No charge, just get it going again. Birthday present for your MOM :)

Wow, what a nice gesture! I would like to find a running engine and tranny, ready to go. And it doesn't have to be a 27. If this fails, I would consider a road trip to Canada.
Thanks,
Kathy

Suggest you contact the VCCA '27 Tech Advisor who lives in Katy, TX. If not a VCCA member then you should join ASAP. There are likely several '27 engines in the Houston area. Likely they will not be in running condition and will need some repairs or parts.

Kathy,
I sent you a Private Message. If you email me I can send the next issue of the San Jacinto Region newsletter. Our next meeting is a Memorial BBQ party on Saturday, May 19 in Houston, TX. It would be a great time to meet a bunch of VCCA'ers, several with 4 bangers.
