I don't want to be a stick in the mud but there are a lot of us stuck with dial-up & posting pics directly into the thread makes life difficult at best when trying to follow a thread. There are also European visitors who pay per kilobyte who might appreciate having the option of viewing pics or just following a thread without viewing. Using a hosting service for your pictures, then linking them to the thread would be a benefit to us all.

Sorry about the long wait, I am using a URL link, these are not JPEG attachments so if there is a better way, let me know. Meantime, here is the engine compartment of the 41 "Helmet"...

Really nice pics! That is a fantastic wood grain job, who did it? Was there a car in picture two....?

Personally I think you have an argument with the lowered and piped issue. I never have tried to show my car but it would bother me if someone took off 100% of the points for an item if 90% of it was original and 10% modified, for taste or because I haven't found an original. If all the springs, spring mounting hardware and drive shaft attachments are original but you have a spacer and new U bolts, I would say that is at most a 25% deduction from the total score for suspension. If my car only has 1st gear and I take it to a show in theory I should get a deduction for inoperative transmission but how will they know? I put original dome pistons in my car because that was the only way I could know what it was like to drive a true 38, but if I hadn't, who would know? If I have the right bumper but the wrong bumper guards I should get maybe a 20% deduction for bumpers, not 100%. That should apply everywhere.

A show is by nature a visual event so as long as the parts are there you should score based on percent complete/correct. How can you judge ride height? There is no standard. And this coming from someone who hates modifieds....

Richard, you have generated some really interesting discussion here, but if you really want to generate changes to VCCA, I think the proper procedure is to submit a motion to the BOD to do whatever it is you want to see changed.

John 348/340HP, you've been watching this thread, am I correct? Is a motion the way to initiate change?
