Hello guys,
This 37 4 door sedan Im building came with no keys.. I got the cylinder out of the door handle via the little pin and plan on ordering another cylinder set. The trunk handle is a different story. I can't find a way to remove the lock from the handle. Another issue is that the handle seems to close the latching mechanism in the 3:00 position. I read somewhere that in 37 they made a vertical and a horizontal locking trunk handle.... Could this be what's going on? Id really like to get the original trunk handle to work instead of forking out $125 for an aftermarket handle.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Your guess is as good as mine.....all I know is the the prt numbers are different.

I did install a locking handle on the left side of my '39....just used a right locking handle and it was up-side-down so the key had to be inserted up-side-down. For 1939 Chevrolet did offer a left locking door handle as an accessory.
