I am restoring a 1928 Chevrolet Champion. The engine block has a hole (screwdriver) and I don't know what it is for. A part is missing? You can see it in the last photo of this album. Thanks for the answers.

dens41 is correct. It is the crankcase pressure relief tube that takes the gasses to the rear of the carb.

Attached is a photo of my '28 Canopy Express engine with the tube in place and pointed out.
