Mike 41, WHAT?
Quote
Mac, This is as kind and gentle a statement as I have ever written. I've never had any trouble trying to find ways to make my ideas work better or be more valuable or more insightful or even more effective and I do not need you to aid me in that process.

Maybe you are trying a bit hard?
I will hang around and see how this plays out, anyway

You have convinced me. One PR person that all chairs of events send the details to, then that PR person polishes the details and sends it to numerous publications to pre-advertise and then after the event the PR person collects and then sends articles to numerous publications. It makes sense. Why did it take us 46 years to figure this out ?

The current procedure is to have the Area Board Director sanction each event in his/her area, then they should encourage that event person to get the publicity, that has not happened. We may get 4 of the 12 Area Directors to have the know-how to do this, but one PR person makes more sense. Easier to have one expert then 12 non-experts. I was surprised to learn this year that "At Large" Directors cannot sanction an event, it can only be done by Area Directors.

Mike, I will try one more time.
I am not opposed to having a P.R. committee or a P.R. Coordinator with the responsibility of presenting our ideals and image to the world.
I am not opposed to you and those you choose to help to come up with a marketing plan and presenting it to the Regions and the National Board for review. I do think discussion of any plan that will effect the entire VCCA should be allowed with even some opposing views and concerns.
I do not question your vast experiance and high level of your edcuation in marketing, I do think you are a valuable assett to VCCA.
Ok, what else bothers you about me? Let's get this relationship back on the right path.
