I need some sun visors in my 37,does anyone know if they were availble back then and if not what would work. I seen some for a 36 car on epay and they were going for some money so I need a reasonable alternative. Jef

I don't believe Chevy offered visors for any truck prior to the advanced design models of 1947. My 39 pickup had some aftermarket visors when I got it. I've never seen any others like them.

The 37 pick up did not have sun visors offered on the official 1937 Truck Accessories list. The 1937 Accessories list for the car, however, shows a right hand sun visor, in the Dealer's Confidential Price List of Genuine Chevrolet Accessories for 1937 shown as "Visor - R. H. Sun". The Part Number was 985143 and listed for a List Price of $ 2.25, Net Price of $ 1.35. This visor could be installed by a dealer on the Driver's side of a truck by reversing the visor and, of course, could be installed on the R. H., or Passenger's side. That is about as close to a Sun Visor as you are going to get for a 1937 pick up or any of the truck line for Chevrolet in 1937. It is possible someone is reproducing these sun visors. Maybe someone else can supply that information.

Joe

All the 1934, 1935 & 1936 single unit trucks (Panels & Canopy bodys) built in Canada came with a driver side sun visor as standard equipement from the factory and were identical to the 34-36 Standard car. The Dealer could easily install a visor on either side using the Standard car visors and mountings.

34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

I also found that the American built 1934-36 single unit 1/2 ton trucks also came with a left hand visor as factory equipment. The visor is the same as the 34-36 Standard car and uses the same mounting pins and swivel. The visor was not suppied with 1.5 ton single unit truck.

I am watching ebay to see what comes up,I would think any mid 30s GM visors will work. As I am here typing I think I might have a set from a 53 olds and when I sign off I will try to find them. Jeff

I found the visors from the 53 and they are way too long to work in that small cab so the search continues. Jeff
