hi, and thank you for taking the time to answer this question. I am in the process of installing a stock 71 402 big block into a 79 z28 the combo so far is the 402 backed by turbo 350, ten bolt posi with 488 gears and traction bars.Has anyone done this before? i know the gears are steep but they came with the car.The motor came from a 3/4 ton camper special and went well in the truck.but i dont know if im wasting my time or if it will really move. Any info would be very helpful

I am afraid that you are in the wrong chat site. This is for restoring cars to the original condition.
I would suggest that you try chevytalk.com - and go to their 1967=69 Camaro forum.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOU PROJECT :)
