If not, there still is time. Due to popular demand the deadline to pre-order your 2007 VCCA calendar has been extended to November 15th. All Chat site users may order a calendar. It is not restricted to National VCCA Members. Contact Jim Knopp if you are interested in reserving your calendar. His email address is jak1932@yahoo.com More details check out this post. Click here Below is a sample from the calendar. There are two more samples from the calendar in Jim's Yahoo briefcase. The more calendars Jim has printed, the lower the price will be per calendar. So, send him your order NOW!
Regards,
Jim M.

I ordered three and would order three more if I knew my car was in there, but it will be hard to compete with that June Cabriolet - WOW!

I understand the more that are produced the lower the unit cost, what with price breaks and so on.
But, can somebody tell me "about" what the unit cost is likely to be??? I mean even within a dollar or two......
Thanks.
Bill.

Hi Bill, I'll have to look up the cost break points from last year and get back with you. I'm not sure of the exact figures, but I'm hoping to get the cost down to around $8.00 per copy. Thanks!

Ok Chevykid put me down for three more calendars. JimK just sent me the preview for November 2007 and it sewed up a few on my Christmas gift list.

IMFALCO,
Great idea for a Christmas gift. I will add three more calendars for you to our region order list.
Congrats on having your car selected for 2007 VCCA calendar. Hard to believe that this is the fourth year that jimk has produced a VCCA calendar. Where does the time go?
Many thanks for your interest and support.
Jim

Hi Bill, Sorry about being MIA. We had a death in my family that involved quite a bit of travel, but I'm back in touch with this now. Anyway, I'm taking my rough draft to the printshop today to get a quote. So far I have about 120 calendars sold. That number should go up soon since we have board approval to publish my article in the special Nov/Dec G&D. Whenever the G&D comes out I suspect I'll have to get the quote revised. But I'll keep everybody posted on this thread. Thanks again and sorry for my absence.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayer Louis, that really means alot!
Well, as of 11/1/06 we have orders for 137 calendars. If we hit 300 copies the price is $8.18 per copy which is close to the target price I was hoping to get. I'll keep you posted. Thanks Jim

MrMack, I did get your email and have your reservation saved in my spreadsheet - thank you. I will send you a note soon when I get the final cost. The printer said the cost of paper has sky rocketed in the past year and he thinks it's due to the high fuel costs - hmmm who says there is no inflation! Anyway, I think the $8.18 cost is good and I'll find out what shipping will be. The funny thing is, if we get 500 copies the price goes down a whopping 4 cents. Beyond 500 the printer would make the copies on his press and then we would realize a significant savings - maybe next year as the word gets out. My thought is to have the calendars printed the week of Nov. 27th and begin shipping them out the first week in December. I'll keep everybody posted. Thanks again Jimk

The calendar would be a good ad for the VCCA; wonder if we could somehow get the word out about the calendar in other mags?

That doesn't seem too difficult.....
Seemingly, it could be done in a "Letter to the Editor" type situation.
Or, simply buy a small-ish size ad.
If "we" do that, I'd suggest we (errr, Jim) add another sheet to the calendar. A little write up about the club on one side of the 'extra' sheet and an application for membership on the other side of the sheet.
Bill.

Hey Bill, That's a great idea! I have a blank sheet on the last page of the calendar, and I've been struggling on how best to use it. I'll do exactly what you said. Thanks for the idea. Jim

Hi fellows! Here is the final cost breakdown: 1 calendar shipped to you is $9.50 2 = $18.70 3 = $27.60
Please email me if you would like to order more than 3 copies and I'll send you a quote. My address is: Jim Knopp 9070 Oakstone Trail Chardon, Ohio 44024
I should be ready to ship these the first week in December.
By the way, the proofs look good, but I do need to make a few small changes. I'll post the final pages in my briefcase soon.
Thanks again guys - you made this what it is! Jim

Hey Jim, I will need to order two calendars. Currently in Tucson where we are rapping up the first SW Fall Tour. Great time, great people, made more VCCA friends. More of you need to go on a tour and find out more about the VCCA.

Jim, you (and all members ordering for 2007) have made an excellent job as to the calendar cost this year. Price for 2006 sent to Norway: NOK 83,-/pc., for 2007 ONLY NOK 60,-, or below USD 9,-.
May be with one main sponsor, f.ex. Meguiar's, covering a part of the total cost, we all could get the calendar 2008 f.o.c., or for a very low cost? Used as a Christmas-gift for possible new members, may be VCCA could reach 10.000 members before 2011!!!!! WOW!!!

Hi Solan, Thank you. I think I've stumbled on the best way to do this finally. The most economical way to make these are with seven pieces of 11x17 glossy paper printed on both sides and stapled in the middle. They fold in half and can be shipped easier and cheaper. The other thing is the volume of the order to the printer. Last year I had 125 copies made, this year it looks like I'll order 300! I did contact Meguiar's and we're too late for 2006, but I'll fill out the forms they sent me and see if they will sponsor us for '08. By the way, I updated my briefcase with the final pages. http://briefcase.yahoo.com/jak1932 Thanks again!

Seems like you have made an excellent solution for a high-quality, still low-cost calendar for next year, and thereafter. Could you tell me the weight of 1 pc. w/o envelop?
As to Meguiar, you may tell them their Norwegian importer, Panvulk AS, Oslo is the sponsor of Chevrolet Club of Norway, and has been supporting us all years since 2002. Panvulk AS - Meguiar is also the main supporter to Corvette Club of Norway.
