This post has really receive a lot of attention. I have read with interest but as yet not posted a one liner.
My grandson told this one to his Dad (who was coaching him) when he first started playing soccer.Dad "I'll just do the best I can". That is all any of us can do and usually it is good enough.
My Son owned 22 acres of this good Ozark countryside. While visiting one day we were standing in a small field on his property and he said "Dad, this way 'I can always be outstanding in my field'" He is outstanding in "both" his fields.

And have you ever thought that if:
the planet wasn't the precise size it is and it wasn't spinning at the speed it is, and if it wasn't exactly in the correct orbit, and if it wasn't tilted at the precise angle, I might not weigh 250 # today? and be wearing a short sleeve shirt in Texas on December 21, 2005?...and doing Christmas Shopping because af a precious Babe that lay in a Manger 2000 years ago..... How about that Charles Darwin?

The nice thing about being 'old' ( and senile ) is you can buy and wrap your own Christmas presents. You can even ”˜stuff’ your own stocking hung by the chimney with care.
