I watched with my 8 year old granddaughter and when she saw the car she said "if you paint a lot of flowers on it and it could be a girl's car". I don't think it could even be a flower pot, not in my yard anyway.
The new painter isn’t as good as Charlie was…he had to redo some of the paint because he laid some on too thick.
Right on Bill, it looked like a '62 T-bird to me.
By the way did you guys notice that the car has no convertible top? Guess Crapington forgot about rain...will make it hard to even wash.
PS--if Mike was working on Chip Foose's stuff during the work day and on BC’s company computers, he was stupid and I don't feel sorry for him, he should have known better, he knew the danger.

"By the way did you guys notice that the car has no convertible top?" Yep.....sure did, and the car has absolutely no top at all. That's because Coddington cut the top off and threw it away!

A much nicer looking "real" Impala graces the back page of August G & D, which I picked up at the post office at 1000 hrs 1 Aug 05.

I couldn't agree more with 'George33Eagle' than I do about the '59 Impala on the back page of the August G and D being "much nicer" than the 'Coddington version' that we've been 'discussing.'
My guess is the '59 on the back cover owned by Jim and Susan Wood is a '283' 2 barrell car.
Which brings to mind the several '348/335 horse' 1958-1960 Impalas I saw in Reno at Hot August Nights last week. As I recall, most of them were four speeds set-up to look like 'factory originals.' With some of the very rare engine/trans combinations like that that you see at shows/cruise-ins/etc these days, it seems like there's more of them NOW than there was when they were 'new.'
Maybe the 'rare' ones are just the ones you see at shows. But I'd think a red hardtop with the 'rare' engine / transmission combo would more likely have gone off the road backwards years ago compared to a 'light green 283 2 barrell with a PG.'
Who knows.....
Bill.
