I have a good Fulton Sunvisor that was supposed to have come off a 1941 Chevy. The following is on a chrome disc on the side of the visor. Pat 2334856-2470477-2506108 Can 457872-462945. THE FULTON SUN SHIELD COMPANY Others pending Milwakee USA. THE FULTON is arched on the upper part of the disc, the SUN SHIELD with the S in shield in a large sweeping S across the center with "sun" rays extending from the hole in the center used to attach the disc to the visor. COMPANY is arched below the Sun Shield in the center. OTHERS PENDING AND MILWAUKEE USA are arch across the lower portion. Clear as mud. Does anyone know about the visor. It is not the "regular" Fulton visor that has the arms on the sides and the square corners. This visor is curved around like the '49-'52 visors. It has a chrome strip all the way around and in the center. It curves around and attaches to the rain gutter. Any comments would be apprecated. THANKS JIM

That model Fulton visor came out in 1950 and continued on thru the mid '50's when visors became extinct. It is somewhat adjustable in the center, would be considered universal, and will fit many cars. The Fulton Co. actually was here in West Allis, a Milwaukee western suburb. It was located about 3 blocks from the Chevrolet dealer where I was employed. The company did business with us and we installed mainly Fulton visors. The owner and some of our managers were friends -lodge buddies. In my first summer of employment (1950) I had the privledge of driving Mr. Fultons new 1950 Cadillac 60 Special to downtown Milwaukee to have US Royal Master premimum tires installed. They could't do it on Friday so had to return on Monday.....what a thrill to drive a NEW CADILLAC.The general manager chose me because my father was also employed at the dealership and thought I was an angel....it could burn rubber in Low range

After I posted the above post I found the sunvisor on ebay. It is a Deluxe 1000 sunshield by Fulton. As Chevgene said it is a universal shield and will fit many cars. Now I have to decide if I want to put it on my '41 Coupe. My car is as stock as it can be (with a few minor exceptions) so I dont know if it would look right or not. Any opinions? Remember I am 99% original. Thanks JIM

The new style always looked out of place on a pre-war body style-was fashioned more for the round cars of the '50's.
I removed the Chevrolet visor from my '50 last year before our trip to Vermont....Much better for viewing senery, less floping in the wind at high speed and can see the stop lights better ( I don't trust the traffic light viewer)...was going to reinstall it after I got home but never did as I find it causes more problems than it has advantages.

I think they look really neat. They're so 'period' like.
However, I wouldn't put one on my car. Too many hassles (as others have expressed).
They look absolutely great; BUT, not for me/my car.
Ha - YOU will have to decide whether or not to put it on Jim.....
Bill.

Thanks for the comments. I had already decided to not install the sunvisor on my car. The negative comments made the decision easier. I don't like to see a good looking car "junked" up with lot of unnecessary accessories. I will have to admit that I had white mud flaps with clerence lights, sunvisior, etc. on the '40 Chevy I had in high school. I have wised up in the last several years and now want everthing to be stock. MrMack the "other makes of cars" especially Chrysler product needs some things to improve their looks. Chevrolets looked good stock. JIM

Jim: I think you made the right decision, especially considering it was a Fulton visor. Thank goodness we've (all) changed our minds since HS days, huh?!?!?!? Too bad our bodies have changed so much also!!! Bill.
