Steve, I believe that you have made an error in the report.

4. 1980 Vehicles.....

"The small block 350 is the largest engine you can find in a Chevy in 1980"

Do you perhaps mean a 305 is the largest engine??? (excluding the Vette)

From 1977-79 the 305 2 bbl.was the base V8 in the A & B body, (267 in the A body in 1979), the 350 4 bbl. optional in the A and B body.
In 1980 The 267 was the base V8 with the 305 now with a 4 barrel the largest option For A & B.
The B body wagons were available with a 350 Olds diesel.
The 350 was available in the B body for police use only.
The 350 C.I. in a B body would not be available again until 1992 in the wagon only,1993 in the wagon and LTZ Caprice.

Does the above agree with your finding??

The 1980 Corvette had a 350 with a 305 optional (bet none of those were sold) and Z28 had a 350.
In the mid '80's the Corvette was the only Chevrolet (car) available with a 350 engine and the police cars.
The 1980 Caprice was also available with a 229 Chev. V-6 and a 231 Buick V-6 in California only.

The '80's should prove very interesting with the variety of engines used.

Gene, I stated that the 350 was the largest engine that Chevrolet offered in 1980. I might be misinformed but I do believe that the Corvette base standard engine was the L48 four barrel. I don't believe the 305 was ever offered in a 'Vette. I am aware of the 305 in the A and B bodies. Please advise.

As I mentioned the 350 was available in a large police car.Around 160-180 HP.

The Camaro had a 190 HP code L 350 for the Z28.

The Vette had a Federal 190 HP base V8 ,it was the L48

Federal V8 at 230 HP L82 for automatic trans. only.

.The 305 180 HP V8 was the base California engine. It was an LG4.

Don't feel bad. I didn't realize this either until yesterday.Wait till 1982 and the Chevette Diesel

My 1980 Corvette info is some what limited but I have two sorces that agree with the above.
