We were just wondering if anyone had a diagram or a very good description of how the wiper motor is attached to the body? Also how the wiper arm is connected? Thanks in advance.

Maree I can understand Richard painfully removing his hair. The 1 fitted to mine is a single wiper electric type fitted inside and above the windscreen with the shaft parrallel with the driveline and has a rubber washer and nut on the outside. It appears to be about a 1/2" hole through the panel work. The motor itself appears to be the common type of that era. Tony

The 39 passenger mounts below windscreen. The transmission polks thru a square hole and wiper arm is bolted to that. Fisher body uses vacuum wiper motor, Holden body uses electric. . . The 39 half ton mounts above the windscreen thru a half inch hole with a cam to keep it from truning. The first heavy bird dropping will break the pot metal cam, allowing the motor to turn rather than the wiper. A sprung wire on the arm, sticks thru the eighth inch hole in the shaft and what appears to be a washer cut in half clips on the depression it the shaft. (I wish this site could do HTML or JPG pictures).
