Earlier today it took me 10 minutes to access "My Profile", and just now it took 3 minutes to get to the "Full Reply Form" on this thread!

Things seem pretty messed up. Slow posting and access. "Page not available," etc. etc. etc.

I've been told BBB is aware of it. And likely pulling his hair out. If there's any hair left to pull out.

Damn Bill, I wouldn't wish these hassles on anybody. Well, maybe just a few.

Hang on buddy. I hope the calvary comes to your rescue real soon!!!!

In the meantime, here's a thought....

seems like the fewer members on the chatter line, the quicker it takes to get into chatter and the various forums. with just two members online at this time, entry time about 10 secs compared 55 secs earlier this evening when about 10 to 12 members were online. mike

42bill, If you look at the time on the "for sale" link on the main screen it shows my post time at 04:23am. I posted that at 12:23. I sure the heck have better things to be doing at 4:23am than pounding the computer keys:).
The weather has been rather nice down here on the central coast but the cool weather is around the corner. I also did adjust my time once. Maybe I need to check it again.

1931 Sal: Your posting above shows 18:34 on my screen, which is correct. My time adjustment on my preferences is now adjusted to +3 and so far tonight my time has been correct as well. I am posting this at 18:54, so your screen should show 18:54 as well.

laugh laugh laugh

Yep, just checked it and the time of my posting shows 18:54 on my screen as well. I have noticed that the server time shown in my preferences has been changing from -5 to +3, so I have changed my settings accordingly. Don't know why the server keeps changing the time for Chevy Chatter, but I have found that it has changed three times in the last 24 hours.

The time response for me went from 10 minutes this afternoon to about 36 seconds on this posting. It seems faster now......but how long will it last?

Yep, what about the problem between the server time and the computer time shown in my preferences? The times have been changing from -5 to +3 automatically and the time on many of the postings has been 8 hours off as well. Also, the posting time is shown in 24 hour time, but the "edit" time is shown in AM/PM time.

The time response on this posting was exactly one minute!

THE TIME WAS JUST CHANGED!!!! I just hung up with the hosting company. Our server time was changed to PST for some reason... So I've now set the time OFFSET back to Zero.

Check the current time for your own area, and then modify your PROFILE time setting if you are not on the West Coast. For example, New Jersey, enter +3.

Okay, I just made a test posting on the time. My time adjustment is still set to +3 and the time is correct on the posting. If I set my time adjustment to zero, then won't I be 3 hours off?

JYD should NOT have to adjust your personal settings. But I did make a mistake... in the PROFILES settings, it tells you what to set your time for... and WEST COAST is +3.... so that means that New Jersey should be +6.

Cool! Don't scare me like that! bigl bigl bigl bigl

So, what about the "edit" time set for AM/PM vs. the posting time set for 24 hour time? Is that the way it should be?

I set those... after someone complained about the "military" time a couple of weeks ago, I changed it to am/pm as the default.

But you can also set your own Personal Preference at
https://vccachat.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=edit_my_profile#preferences

Hey... don't bug me for a while... I'm watching "Dancing with the Stars"...

Okay, that explains it...I think. I have my preferences set on 24 hour time but the edit time still shows up as AM/PM for some reason.

"Dancing With The Stars"? I hate that show! Guess I will go have a brew instead!

Time test. I'm at around 23:52 so should show about 21:52. Log in was quite fast.

Posting was a little slower but so is my computer even if I'm not on VCCA Chat. The time, Hmmmmmm? No biggie for now.

Billy Boy Barker, as you requested, here is an update: The time adjustment has been changed by the company again! The time adjusment has changed back to -5 from +3 since last night, and the times posted on CC are once again incorrect. For example, it is now November 15th @ 7:41 AM and the time on Jerrygolf's posting above is November 15th @ 14:09 PM! The time shown on this posting is 15:42, which is 8 hours in advance of the time that I actually made this posting.

I don't know why, but for some reason the company keeps changing their time adjustment back and forth.

mad mad mad

I changed from -5 back to 3 (+3) a few days ago. Just for the record, it's just past 0830 (830am) here in Portland, OR.

Let's see what time the "company" says it is....

Edit by me:

Oooops, "they" think it's 1630 (330pm). I guess "we're" back to the 8 hours plus situation. Just like Skippy says. I guess that means I have to set my profile time thing back to -5. It seems pretty dumb that this keeps happening!

On the UP side, definitely on the UP side, is the speed factor. Not blinding fast; but certainly better than the last day or so.....

Bill.

JYD,So you do have a modern time keeping device, and don't have to rely upon the sundial out in the yard. Probably couldn't see the sun today anyway from your kennel in Are-we-gone.
