Just how much faster is it this morning.....

On your mark, get so, GO.....

Results:

Time from click on "add" to "thanks" = 60 seconds.

Time from "thanks for adding your post" to actually seeing the post = 25 seconds.

Total time = 1 mintues and 25 seconds.

That doesn't seem any better.

BUT, NO COMPLAINTS!!! I REALLY didn't like the 9 nine days when CC wasn't available at all!!

Bill.

I agree 42 Bill....I think it's still slower than pre-crash days. But at least we got it!!!

A record breaking 3 minutes 35 seconds fron ADD REPLY to when it appears. I didn't even time the EDIT time.

Almost time to go to the post office and mail my posts.

But at least we got it.

It's slow for a reason.
If it went any faster us old wrinklies might have heart attacks trying to keep up.
It's like supermarket checkouts....It's the only time you get to do nothing!

Just so you know... I'm still digging up some ways to improve this. Yesterday's "fix" seemed to help some... but I agree, that we're not back to where we were before the move.

Don't hold your breath, but I'm thinking about moving up the timetable for the UPGRADE to CHAT II earlier in order to get some of the database improvements from it's configuration. I'll post info on CHAT II later today/tonight.

Hey Bill,
This has got to be extremely frustrating for you, considering all the work you've put into it. Regardless of the content of the posts we post here, we really do appreciate all the time and effort you're putting into this to make it better for all of us. Stay with it Bill, we really do appreciate it no matter what we say.

Hey Bill,

Just made a post on CHAT II.....and while I didn't have my stopwatch out, it seemed to go through just as in days of yore.

Whatever you've been doing, THANKS.

Golly, that felt good!!!

FYI -

For me (cable modem) it remains far, far slower to turn pages than pre- Crash.

I am not sure wether it is my system or a fault at the server. Tonight I posted in 2 different forums and on both after the processing screen before showing the post I got the "cannot find server" screen. on refresh the posting had been saved.

Bill, I just posted a parts for sale ad and when I hit the post button it took a long time and then came up with "This page cannot be found". I clicked my back button and got the main screen back, then clicked on "Parts for sale". My ad was there but the time that showed was eight hours off. Thanks for all your time and effert.

Hey Sal, How's it down there in sunny (??) Cali. Lots of rain up here.

Interesting about your experience. For me your posting time appears correct. Just after 1230pm today. I have adjusted my time in "my profile" to 3 hours plus. I know Skip has also. And your post is at 1233. But his post right above yours says 1511 (or 311pm) which is still some 2 hours in the future. And I know he did that post this morning.

So your time is right. And you haven't adjusted your profile time thing. And Skip's time is wrong. And he has adjusted his profile time thing.

WEIRD!!!

(I'm curious to see when my post time is. It should be about 1250.....)

EDIT by me: Well, my post time is correct at 1252. Interesting, to say the least!!!

Bill.
