What body style? Any evidence of a tag on either end of the front seat?

In the meantime, the front and rear rims/tires are the same size. I assume you have low pressure tires? The rim should be 2 1/2 inches wide on the inside. Disc wheel should accept the 2 1/2 inch rim. The 1928 had the 3 inch wide rims which only fit the 1928 disc wheels.

Ray thanks for your responce .The body style is a landau coupe the rims measure about 21/2 on the inside but have 31/2 stamped on the in side of the rim The ones I have on the rear had 6 bolt to the drums that i welded and drilled the 4 bolt patern that I have on the hubs so most likely they are 28s I was told when I baugth the disk they were Buffelo wheels and would work ?

Is it possible that your 25 coupe is so early that it still has the 4 bolt pattern? The coupe came from the factory with the disc wheels and the balloon tires. They were 440X21.

Buffalo was noted for wire wheels. Are your wheels wire spoke? What size tire is currently on the rims?

Not really sure I understand what changes you made on the rear end. For your information brake drums are available for the 1925-28.

Thanks Ray Your rim artical was helpful my car has 4 bolt hubs and 11" break drums on the back the disk that were on the car when I got it were just flat on the top with a small recess for the valve stem and rim clip nothing to back up the rim the tires were 440/21 so I baugth a set of rims [supposably buffelo ]after sand blasting found the chevy makrings under the out side ring .This set had a 6 bolt patern but the hub hole was the same thats where the welding came in As of now I have found a set of dogs and bolt so I think I'm set there as for numbers on the seat the wood has ben replaced with no markings but I havent looked over the seat frame .

Ray,(Antique Radio Mechanic) Do you have any objection to the members of Chatter copying and saving some of your Tech articles onto our home computers?

I have found a good method of archiving some of your postings here and saveing them to the hard drive on my computer by highlighting the article I want to save, (including the date of the posting, etc.,etc.) then I click on the highlighted section and when the selection box comes up, I click on COPY, I then open a word processor (Word or Wordperfect) select New Document and paste the copied article directly into the new blank document, I then name the document and save it in My Documents in a special folder. This works fine for me as it saves the original text and all the pictures just as they appear in your postings.
Thanks,
MrMack

Be my guest. As I have stated before, I apologize for the removal of a great number of pictures in the early part of "School is in Session". An error on the part of a new webmaster was the cause.

Many members copied the complete "School" to CDs for their own use. Others printed the entire "School".

Fortunately, I have all the pictures saved, but I do not have sufficient storage space to store, and it would take hours to find, copy, delete, re-establish at the correct place in the original "School", all of their pictures.

Although based on an engine rebuild, the "School" covered almost all of the substructures on the 1928 Chevrolet and is valuable as a reference just for those portions alone.
