You can now adjust the gear/worm play with the bronze bushing. You most have a little play in the bottom bushings, and this play are already there. :)

Find the point when you have "no play" and have this point when you driving straight forward.

Arvid,
What a good idea, and thanks for the excellent photos.
We have Dodge Fours with similar problems and will investigate if a similar modification can be done to them also.
Cheers,
Geoff

Hi Arvid,
A great idea for making an eccentric bush for the top of the steering box,but how do go about doing the same process to compensate for wear at the end of the shaft, where the plug screws into the bottom of the steering box?

Hello Geoff and CJP'S 29.

Nice to hear from you down under, and hear you like the modification on the steering box.

I have made a eccentric bushing in the bottom one time, but I find it not necessary. It works great only with the bushing on the top.

I was in Brisbane and Sidney 2002-2003 and see the fireworks on the bridge in Sidney new-year.
It was a great experience.
I like to come back one time, but 20 hour's on the plane is a long time.
Summer and sun in Norway.

Regards Arvid
