I recently had a '19 BG follow me home. I need a few parts like front fenders, spark lever & rod, hood hold downs wing nut assemblies, pile of money. Any help out there? Not desperate yet so keep prices low.

Did your thumb get in the way ? I thought they were all sold out of BG's by '16 ( I wasn't there however ). Anyway I talked to a guy in Boise a couple of months ago that says he has almost all the sheet metal for a Baby Grand. Much rust because it set in a field for years. I'll send you his name when I find it

Herb, I am not an expert on early Chevrolet history. Need to contact Ken Kaufmann for that.  It is my understanding that the Baby Grand name was used through the FB 50 Touring Car sold 1919 to 1922. I don't know if it was an "official" Chevrolet name or just used by dealers and customers. :confused: The literature that I have refers to the 1919 as "FB 50" Touring Car. That's correct CC and I don't need to ask Ken but simply turn the page in my "Early Chevrolet History". Our earlier Historian ( Doug Bell ) reported that the Royal Mail and Baby Grand of 1916 were indeed continued to 1917 with the F and it is quite likely the names stuck until the end of production of the FB in 1922. Also tourings were called FB-50 from 1919 thru 22. With that I'd better crawl back into my "Gearbox" and bone up on how to use these funny faces. I hope you got my e-mail ?

The Chevrolet "nameplate" that is nailed to the firewall on the F,FA,and FB's from 1917 through 1922 models stated "BABY GRAND" or "ROYAL MAIL"

Hi all! Think I'll throw a little more confusion into the subject. It's true that SOME FB's had nametags that said "Baby Grand"(saw it on some FB50 touring cars). My 1920 FB40 Sedan nametag says "Sedan" only.

Jim is correct on the "Sedan" nameplate on the 1920-22 FB40 Sedans that had the 4 door Hayes-Iola bodies. I saw Jim "Sedan" on his car nameplate at Springfield last July. But I wonder if Jim noticed that Bob Sovis 1919 FB Sedan with the old style FA 2 Door body parked right next to his car at Springfield had a nameplate that read BABY-GRAND at the top but the bottom line read: FB SEDAN CAR No. 21196.
So the 1918-19 Sedans [2 Doors]would be refered to has "Baby-Grand Sedans" while the improved 4 door Sedans for 1920-22 were "FB Sedans". I have never seen a 4 Pass Coupe, but I wouls guess they followed the same format as the Sedans.
