Hi All,
Can some-one point me in the right direction, re seat covering materials used in 1920's/1930's? At sometime I will need to recover the seats in my 28, however presently I am closer to covering the seats in my '34 C20 Inter truck. The seat base appears to have a form of cotton waste for padding and a vinyl covering.
Thanks, Tim.

Maybe "Ace is the place" but not for old Chevrolet interiors, you need to contact Hampton Coach they should have a website.

Yeah just check the link on the next posting by JYD!

Speaking of seat material. I'm looking for the material used on the door panels of the '49 Special models. This was also used on the seat corner panels and seat back outer sides. It is described as a tan broadcloth with a herringbone pattern. Hampton Coach sent me samples for the '49 special but, their door panel material doesn't match. I've been told that this isn't being reproduced and will probably have to come from someone that happens to have it on hand. Any ideas out there?

The material would not be a broadcloth as it is a low pile fabric. The Chevron design will be almost impossible to duplicate. It was used only in 1949 (and 1936 Standards). If you have a sample I would try fabric and upholstery material shops-such as for home use on chairs etc.
