Looking for a replacement bulb for my spotlight - Guide. 6v. I believe the numbers may be 451 651 but unsure. I can post a pic of the one I have that is burned out. Thanks.

I have 2 sealed beam spot lamp bulbs that look like yours but the part number is 451645. I can't find this number in any parts catalog through 1956. They are 5 inches across.
Maybe someone will know if they will work for you.

Hope this helps someone, What I found if you cannot open this is that it is 12 volt 5". I found this in a Guide brochure.

The orginal bulb was a 1323.

Your pcture looks like you have a sealed beam with the lens removed and a non-replaceable bulb

what year is the spot light?

Thanks to all - really!

It is a sealed beam, non-replaceable. On a Guide spot light circa 1951. There may be different lights for car/truck - mine was on a 51 fleetline.

Thanks - the back is different - unsure if it could be reworked. I just guess I'm thinking someone's got a few of these sitting around - but wishful thinking? (it is the season!).

It is easy to ID a spot light sealed beam as the bulb has a metal deflector cap and it has GM stamped oh it.

Thanks - I notice these have two separate screws for wiring - the original just has a single female/male end on the back of the bulb to the wire. Can these be used with (I assume) changing the wiring in the spotlight? Appreciate the direction.

I don't see why you couldn't. The single wire is likely the hot with the copper ring around the OEM bulb grounding to the housing. It would be relatively easy to sweat a ground wire to the inside of the housing. Attach that wire to the ground of the new bulb. If the new bulb isn't marked +/- on the terminals then connecting hot and ground either way will work.

This is a good idea, I may try it. When you say "sweat a ground wire to the inside of the housing" - I could just take a wire from the ground terminal and then ... solder it to .. anything (back of the reflector? Inside rim of outside cover? Thank you -
