Haven't used that product, but I have always had great luck with Bill Hirsch's Cast Iron Gray paint. I'm not sure how it compares pricewise

I had my exhaust manifolds ceramic-coated and I used the black POR-15 on my rusted battery tray. The POR-15 instructions say it dries harder than ceramic, which I will say appears to be very true, so if the gray POR-15 says it will take the high temperatures of the exhaust system, I'd say give it a shot.

I bought a small "starter kit" at NAPA that had all three components (cleaner, metal-ready and 8oz. of final coating) for under $20, and I still have most of it left after 2 coats on my battery tray and a layer of protection in the battery area of my engine compartment and frame under the battery tray. It's expensive by the quart or gallon compared to regular paint but a little goes a long way.

I've used the POR-15 kit to clean, prep, and coat the inside of a 35 gas tank. It was labeled as a "fuel tank repair kit". Was amazed at the garbage that washed out of it with the cleaner. Then used the prep to etch the metal and then the coating. The products and instructions were easy to use. I feel it did a great job and I would recommend it to anyone needing to do a gas tank. I wouldn't be afraid to use any of their other products. You should expect a quality job from them........Bill

I haven't used the gray but I have used the silver on my split exhaust. It has been on now for two years and still looks great. Not alot of miles on it but it hasn't discoloured at all. I think you would be really happy with it. Just make sure you apply it the way the instructions tell you and it will be fine.
