Hello Doug,

I have a '29 coupe myself. Not many of that model survived. In general the '29 models have some unique engineering features that may take some help to sort through. Many things on the '29 year model were engineered as running changes so you will need to find the most common date codes of your car. The engine, cylinder head, transmission, should all be dated. Those along with the body serial number will help make sure the information you get here on the forum will match your car.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks gentleman. I will search for the date codes in hopes to be able to straighten out a running condition troubling me at present.

I have an off idle rough running condition like where it hesitation occurs until more throttle is applied. Idles good, accelerates good, but at zero thrust, or lightly accelerating after shifting is bad. I have set points at .018 and about to gap plugs from .026 to a suggested.040. I have dissembled carburetor, cleaned, used tag wire through all jets, ports etc, blown out with high pressure air, polished needle and seat, and installed a missing check ball, but have not checked timing yet. Compression is 65 lb to 74. I believe it to be fuel related, but frustrated being I have rebuilt a ton of quadrajets successfully thought the years. On a side note the carb appears to be a replacement of same make and model. Will confirm, however all features appear same.

I will gather the requested information Art, and report back. Also should mention exhaust is a two inch straight pipe which dumps just behind seat at present. I have a resonator on the way which I will be installing and most likely adding an additional 1 3/4" or 2" length to al least rear axle.
Thank you for taking the time and offering to help, as it means much.

Very truly, Doug
