When I start my 1950, I can hear vacuum coming from the wiper motor with the wipers off. Is this normal or do I have a leak somewhere? I never noticed the noise before restoring the car. The engine seems to run fine. Any thoughts?

Had the same problem with my 1950
Noise caused by vaccum leak at the slider valve, I removed the slider valve and put more arc in the little flat spring that presses valve to opening for vacuum ports.......end of noise..

Gene, thanks. The weather is going to be close to 60 tomorrow, so I plan on some quality one on one time with my 1950. It's so much more enjoyable when the cold metal wrenches don't stick to your hands.

Gene, I put more arch in the slider valve, but still have noise. I removed the vacuum motor from under the dash and hooked it up under the hood. I turned it on and the noise is coming from the bottom area where there is material inside the cavity. See arrow in photo. Also, you can see the additional bend in the slider spring. Any ideas? Thanks
