Need a recommendation for a shop in Chicago or suburbs.

A friend has a near perfect '48 Woody with a bad exhaust valve. He had an identical head, so had that one rebuilt. Now just needs to swap the heads. Pretty simple job, but the head is heavy, he has some new physical challenges, wants to have a shop do it.

Any suggestions?

If he's a club member he can do a member search for members in that area then contact them for advise. He can also contact area car club members (other than VCCA) and ask them for advise. Attending a local car show is a good start.

Thanks to you both for good advice. He and I are VCCA members, but we have not been active with a local chapter. We should be able to find a shop by just asking others with similar cars. The car show season is just starting here, so that will help in asking around. Thanks.
