what is the significance of the two different trunk handle styles t handle and pull handle with wings?

1949 had the "T" handle, and a separate ornament.
1950 had the handle with integrated lock, and two stainless "wings" on either side.
1951 and '52 had a handle with the lock below it. The '51 has a blue bowtie, while the '52 incorporated red into the background...

It’s my understanding that in 1950 the “wings” were only including on the standard transmission models.

Wings were on all 1950 Chev model cars, with the models equipped with Power Glide transmissions having those words as part of the wings.
