The same Carter W-1 was used on passenger and 1/2 ton trucks. 212S was the early one (not recommended) 235S was the later one (much better). Other Carter W-1s can be used but are considered replacements. The 1 1/2 ton trucks used 222S (early) and 222SA (late). They had a raised "T" on the body casting.
