The 41 cabriolet had washboards already installed when I acquired it.

I have an after market set that has the backing plate with the bolts installed and would be alright to put on the 41 coupe.

I need some input as to whether or not to put them on the coupe or not. I don't particularly like them on a 41 and would like some opinions as to what others think about them.

Please take a moment to let me know whether to install them or to sell them. They're in nice condition with no holes in them as most of those used one you see advertised for sale on eBay, etc.

Thanks a heap.

Hi Charlie

Just my opinion here of course...

I haven't seen '41s with and without them in person to compare.
So I looked up several pictures on the internet.

I think they look fine on the cabriolet, especially with the top up.
They sort of balance the lines of the top, if you know what I mean.

But I personally think they look a little "excessive" on the coupe, and "unbalance" the clean lines of the rest of the car.
Kind of like a woman wearing ear rings that are way to big.

Hope that helps! :-)

I would put one on just the left side to settle the problem. That way it will be how you look it. stressed

Had to Google what a washboard was. My 48 has them below the tail lights. I thought they were called something else.

I appreciate the replies. Still haven't made up my mind.

As to the 48 taillight pieces, I think they were called cascades or something like that.

Best,

hi Charlie hope you are doing well, as for washboards I think they look good on most model 41s, but like they say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, if you do decide to install them on your coupe do you have the correct templates to put them on with, I think that the aftermarket ones use different templates then the originals if not, I know someone that has reprints for the repops. hope this helps, and I am glad you finally made a national meet and won an award. keep safe, dlz
