I'm looking at a 46 Fleetmaster with a valve cover that has "Wayne" cast into the cover. Now would this be just a valve cover or a special head? I also think I saw Wayne cast into the engine block on the pass side as I recall. Is this anything rare or special? I don't know if it would be a 216 or 235?
It's kind of old school hot rod with not your typical 350 stuffed in. We're these considered well made, and does it add any value $$ to the car? Thank you!

I cannot offer any guidance about whether these add value to the vehicle. That depends upon the potential buyers’ interests. If they want an original car these would make it less attractive.

The valve cover and side cover are aftermarket parts. You need to look for other clues to determine if the engine is a 235 or 216. The really confusing part is that there are 235 engines that look like a 216.

I was not aware that Wayne made any engine blocks, but any Wayne stuff would be VERY cool.
The effect of these items on the value of the vehicle would depend on the buyer. Some would walk away, others would drool.
If there is a head and valve cover, there is definitely some value in them. I would guess they were made for both 216 and 235 engines. Remember that the 216 had a push rod cover that was tall enough to cover the side of the head. The full pressure 235 engine had a shorter cover. Go for it.
