Can anyone help me identify the maker of the grill guard on my '46 truck?
It was on the truck when I bought it, and I haven't seen another one like it.

I do not know who made them but there were several versions of it. Was sold by auto supply stores in the 1940s and was fairly common.

I was going to look for the proper Chev accessory guard, but kind of like the way the 3 bars on this one go along with the 3 bars on the upper grill and the 3 bars on the sides of the hood.
Thought if I knew what to look for, I might actually look for another one like the one I have, as mine is slightly bent on one bottom edge (from a chain wrapped around the bumper would be my guess).

I think the guard looks great.

That basic guard came as a single, single with top bent over for rar deck lid clearence. tAnd paiir with two cross bars,
Bumpers just got too heavy so after market gurrds woul not attach
Your uprights are actually deformed where they fit around the bumper due to the larger curver cross section of the bumper.
