Can I marry a 235 intake manifold to a 216 head? What about the alignment rings?

I have a 216 that has a 235 int & exh manifold on it. The carb mounting is different as is the exhaust pipe. It was on the car when I got it and I never had the intake off so can't answer that question. It also has a 53 235 distributor on it. Found out all the hard way when I did a tune-up and replaced the exhaust system.

Some of the suppliers , maybe Chevs of the 40s, sell stepped intake rings that are sized for the 216 on one side and the 235 on the other. They are usually used to mate a 216 intake on a 235.
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

Not a good idea but both the 235 intake and exhaust manifold manifolds must be used together.

I purchased the step alignment rings from a company I thought I put in my file. The address didn't work tonight . Will try to find them and hope the name is on the package in the garage.
